Maharishi School Governance

Maharishi School is located on the campus of Maharishi University of Management and is legally a division of the University. But by resolution of the University’s Board of Trustees, the School is governed by its own Board of Directors.

The Maharishi School Academic Council, chaired by the Head of School, is responsible for matters involving curriculum and instruction. The Maharishi School Administrative Council, chaired by the Head of School, is responsible operating policies.

The Board of Directors are responsible for:

  • The Schools’ statement of philosophy.
  • Policies for the governance of the School.
  • Financial management.
  • Evaluating the administration, operation, and educational programs.
  • Prioritizing and leading fundraising.
  • Hiring and evaluating the School Head.
  • Providing channels of communication with parents and others regarding broad policies of the School.
  • Maintaining a current policy manual comprised of all School Board decisions.

School Head

The School Head, Dr. Richard Beall, has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the school. His duties include:

  • Leadership of the academic program, administrative policies, and professional development of faculty and staff
  • Represent the school to all constituencies
  • Oversee accreditation, recruiting, and fund-raising
  • Maintain all legal requirements and fiscal standards
  • Chair the School Council
