Our 7th and 8th grade Science class have been lear Our 7th and 8th grade Science class have been learning about acid base and chemical reactions. They've been working on making baking soda and vinegar rockets to understand the neutralization reaction, and to see chemical reactions taking place right before their eyes.
Our Middle School includes 6th, 7th, and 8th graders taught by a close-knit team of teachers who understand that before they can learn math and history, these young adolescents may need to learn how to make friends, or organize their lockers—or cope with the changes happening to their bodies.
The emphasis on reflection on the learning process continues as students learn to recognize their own strengths and to set learning goals for themselves in line with the targets their teachers introduce in class.

“The rocketry project welcomes any student with “The rocketry project welcomes any student with a deep passion for learning and an unwavering commitment to perseverance. We don't require students to be experts in math and science, although those skills can certainly be an asset."
"What truly excites me about this project is that each year, the challenges we face are slightly different. As an enthusiast of 'flight,' it's a genuine delight to witness students embark on this journey armed with nothing but their unique experiences, their boundless potential, and a set of competition rules."
"What unfolds is a remarkable transformation of their ideas and creativity into solutions for complex engineering and creative challenges, resulting in resounding success on a national stage. Collaborating with these students towards a common goal, tackling these challenges, and striving to be the best we can be, is without a doubt the highlight of my day!”
- Rocketry Coach Rick Rudloff
“I think the coolest thing about being part of the rocketry program at Maharishi School is the fact that you get to build something from start to finish with your own hands that has the ability to fly 800 ft in the air. Before joining Rocketry I never imagined I would be able to design, build, and fly my own model rocket but now it’s really cool to think that we are going to be building a 7-foot rocket under the guidance of NASA that will reach 5280 ft. Rocketry brings together all of the subjects we learn in school and teaches me so much more about the world around us.”

At Maharishi School, guiding our students as they At Maharishi School, guiding our students as they apply for selective colleges and universities is a privilege and a responsibility that we take very seriously.
Our Academic Director, Kaye Jacob, has had years of experience with college admissions and takes the lead on creating a sequential program that leads students step by step, from as early as Grade 9 through sending off their final transcripts after they graduate.
Our registrar, Emmy Auge, is the one who actually handles transcripts, as well as coordinating our standardized testing and liaising with the College Board. All students in grades 8 through 11 take the PSAT in school each fall–and students can register for the SAT on the College Board website or the ACT through their website
