Welcome to the Parent-Teacher-Student Organization
Maharishi School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization is dedicated to the long-term, sustainable growth and success of Maharishi School and the Consciousness-Based system of education it offers. The Parent-Teacher- Student Organization seeks to support the School by facilitating communication between parents, teachers, and the School, and by maximizing teachers’ and parents’ involvement and creative contributions to the School’s success on all levels.
Enjoy an opportunity to play an important and active role in the growth, development, and success of Maharishi School.
Represent the ideas and concerns of your area of the school (girls/boys, lower, middle, upper) at the PTSO and PTSO Leadership meetings with a focus on the solution.
Attend monthly PTSO Leadership meetings and be actively involved in collaborating with the school administration to bring excellence to all areas of school functioning.
Communicate regularly via email/phone with parents or teachers in your constituency and organize social gatherings.
Attend regular PTSO meetings, usually 4 per year.
Attend School Council and School Board meetings as necessary.
Who is my Parent -Teacher-Student Organization Liaison?
The Class Parent welcomes new families and students, organizes class social events, supports the teacher, and creates a phone and e-mail list for the class. They are not required to attend PTSO meetings, although all parents are encouraged to attend.
The Welcoming Committee helps new families and students to feel comfortable and at home at Maharishi School and in the community. This committee helps connect new families with a host family and helps them find resources in the community.
Welcome Back Ice Cream Social Committee
This committee creates a fun event on the first weekend of the school year to welcome new and returning families back to school.
Appreciation Event Honoring Staff, Faculty, and Administration
This committee organizes an event for Maharishi School’s dedicated staff, faculty and administration to show our appreciation for all they do.
