Governance

How the school is led and overseen

Our Board & Governance

Maharishi School is legally a division of Maharishi International University, but by resolution of the University's Board of Trustees, the School is governed by its own Board of Directors.

The Board sets broad, long-range strategic policy consistent with the school's mission; the Leadership Team, chaired by the Head of School, handles day-to-day management and operating policy.

The Board's Responsibilities

  • Ensure fidelity with the School’s mission and goals
  • Set broad policies for the governance of the School
  • Monitor effective financial management and educational programs
  • Prioritize and lead fundraising
  • Hire and evaluate the Head of School
  • Maintain a current policy manual of all Board decisions
