Age Guidelines for 2019-20
Toddler children are 18 months– 2 years old by September 15, 2019. Preschool children have the option to attend class four or five mornings per week – see Tuition Information for rates.

Pre-kindergarten children are 4 years old by September 15, 2019. PreK children have the option of attending morning only or both morning and afternoon sessions five days per week – see Tuition Information for rates.
Kindergarten children are 5 years old by September 15, 2019. Kindergarten children attend both morning and afternoon sessions five days per week.
At Maharishi School Children’s House, high standards are maintained for each child’s happiness, comfort, ability to cooperate in a group, and academic experience. The Children’s House experience should be easy and nourishing for the child and the School reserves the right to decide that a child is not ready for the program. In this case, the Preschool Director will discuss the situation with the parents, and a pro-rated refund will be given.
Hours of Operation
Morning Session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Afternoon Session: 12:00 pm – 4:00pm (starting in 2019-20)
Afternoon Child Care is available from 12:00-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday for children 18 mos. and older. Toilet training is not required. Children may attend on an hourly basis at a rate of $5.00 per hour. Registration is required through the Central Office – 641-472-9400.
During the Child Care hours, naptime is offered. Constructive indoor and outdoor play is provided in a safe and nurturing environment. All families contribute monthly to a group snack.
At lunchtime (11:50-12:50), you are always welcome to come to eat with your child at any of our family tables or sign volunteer paperwork and join our classes.
Children have the option to bring a lunch from home or join our “Family Style” hot lunch. This food is all organic and vegetarian, from the university dining hall, and costs $3/meal. We are partnered with CACFP (Child and Adult Food Care Program) to provide free or reduced lunch with eligible children. Our children eat with five lunch supervisors, who have all completed training with CACFP to provide excellent care and nutritious, balanced meals during lunch.
