Kaye Jacob
Middle & Upper School Director
I love teaching—and our students are wonderful. Respectful, hard-working, curious, kind, and funny, they are also diverse in ethnicity, worldview, beliefs, and interests. In the classroom, they are engaging—and even when they get “sent to the office,” they are responsive and reasonable as we work to restore relationships and resolve conflicts.
In my current role, I also mentor teachers and am mentored by them in a collaborative and highly professional learning community.
Tom Corbett
Middle School Dean of Students
Tom Corbett, a dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience, has taught English Language Arts and Social Studies since 2016, primarily in middle school, where he also serves as Dean of Middle School Students. Originally from Ireland, Tom has taught in his home country, Libya, and the United States inspiring excellence and fostering academic success for his students. He loves playing soccer, travelling, rock climbing, adventure sports, and of course, reading.
Lynn Shirai
Preschool & Lower School Director
Social-emotional learning with children has always been a love of mine. Working with the lower school students as a teacher and now as the director has allowed me to experience directly the changes and challenges of this new generation. The students have the capacity to create new ideas, bring in outside-of-the-box thinking and bring so much joy into our little corner of the world. Tutoring and one-on-one discussions with them has opened my eyes and heart to what lies ahead for this next generation.
