CCLS is Consciousness-Based Education in practice — the course where the philosophy behind everything at this school becomes a weekly class.
Consciousness, Connections, & Life Skills is our pioneering course that deepens students’ understanding of themselves and the world — Life Principles, social awareness, and the qualities of success, taught through Socratic discussion in older grades and hands-on activity in younger ones.
Transcendental Meditation functions as the course’s “lab” — a direct, daily experience of consciousness that grounds the more theoretical material. The Life Skills strand teaches the five CASEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making) alongside a comprehensive health curriculum and Positive Discipline / Restorative Justice practices.
