Our Board & Governance

Maharishi School is located on the campus of Maharishi International University and is legally a division of the University. But by resolution of the University’s Board of Trustees, the School is governed by its own Board of Directors. 

The Maharishi School Board of Directors sets broad, long-range, strategic policies consistent with the School’s mission and goals.  The Maharishi School Leadership Team, chaired by the Head of School, is responsible for school management and operating policies and includes the Administrative, Academic, Enrollment Management, and Development Directors. 

The Board’s Responsibilities:

  • Ensure fidelity with the School’s mission and goals
  • Broad policies for the governance of the School
  • Monitor effective financial management and educational programs
  • Prioritize and lead fundraising
  • Hire and evaluate the School Head
  • Represent and contribute professional expertise and collaborative decision-making
  • Maintain a current policy manual comprised of all School Board decisions

He is the former Director of Diversity and Multicultural Programs for the National Association of Independent Schools in Washington, DC, has consulted with schools and many other organizations nationwide, and is a long-time teacher of TM. MA in Education from Harvard.
  • Sankari Wegman: Master’s degree in Physiology from MIU
  • Chauncy Moulding: Jefferson County Attorney, Juris Doctor (J.D.) from University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law, B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from University of Iowa. Maharishi School (2002)
  • Natasha Blitz-Jones: MA in Education from Harvard. Maharishi School (2005)
  • Suresh Sharma: Accountant and current Maharishi School parent.
