Toddler – PreKindergarten students may be eligible for grants through two organizations: the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) and Early Childhood Initiative (ECI). ECI grants are available for 3-5-year-old students valued at up to $1,800 per year. Grants and scholarships for students qualifying for DHS are valued at $3,200-$5,600 per year. Maharishi School financial aid (using the FAIR application) is not available for Toddler-PreKindergarten families.
Tuition fees for grades K-8: Families eligible for the Iowa Voucher will be fully covered (plus the $300/enrollment fee)
Tuition fees for grades 9-12: Families eligible for the Iowa Voucher can use these funds for the first $7500 of the tuition. You can apply for additional financial aid by completing the Financial Aid Independent Review form (FAIR). That analysis will determine the balance of tuition due, ranging from $0-$6000 (plus the $300/enrollment fee).
Tuition fees cover academic textbooks and materials and the PSAT exam fee.
Field trips, extracurricular activities, additional exam fees, and personal textbooks are the responsibility of the family.
Financial Aid
We offer financial aid because we believe that every child who wants to experience a Consciousness-Based education should have access regardless of financial limitations.
If you feel you’ll need assistance to attend Maharishi School, we encourage you to apply for financial aid and we’re here to support you through the process.
Maharishi School provides generous financial aid in the form of outright grants: nothing to pay back. Any family filing U.S. or Canadian tax returns may apply. Need-based financial aid is not offered to international students.
For priority consideration, complete the aid application by April 15. Additional financial aid may be given out later if funds are available. Financial aid applications for returning students will not be considered after June 15 (for Fall semester) and December 15 (for Spring semester).
Maharishi School uses Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR) for the assessment of financial aid need. All forms are submitted to FAIR directly through their website portal. Families should apply for financial aid during or shortly after submitting the application for admission.

FAQ’s
Do I qualify for the Iowa ESA Voucher of $7,635?
How is a family’s financial contribution determined?
The Finance Review Committee uses a 3rd party independent evaluator, Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR), to determine what a family might reasonably be expected to contribute toward educational expenses. This process considers income, assets, and expenses of both the students and the parents. The total amount available from a family for education costs is divided among all children attending tuition-charging schools. This includes other independent school tuitions, as well as college and university tuitions.
Will applying for financial aid affect my child’s chances for admission?
The aim of Maharishi School is to accept students on their own qualifications without regard to their family’s financial resources. Accordingly, financial considerations shouldn’t deter anyone from applying for admission to the School and are in fact an important step when considering how to make private school work for your family.
What financing options are available?
US families may utilize our 10-month payment plan or our bi-annual payment plan – both facilitated through FACTS. Please contact our Student Accounts office for more information, studentaccounts@maharishischool.org.
Maharishi School also works with several local banks that offer Education loans for students enrolling at Maharishi School. Please contact our Student Accounts office for more information, studentaccounts@maharishischool.org.
Can international students apply for financial aid?
Families applying from outside the U.S. should be aware that Maharishi School does not offer financial aid to international students.
What if I’m separated or divorced?
Maharishi School’s policy is that the parent that claims the child(ren) on their federal tax form is the parent that must complete the financial aid application.
What if we don’t need aid this year, but think we might in the future?
At Maharishi School, financial aid awards are made on a year-to-year basis. Families need to reapply annually if they are seeking continued aid. A family that opts not to apply for financial aid one year is welcome to apply the following or any subsequent year.
Will my financial aid award change from year to year?
Since awards are made on a year-to-year basis, it is possible for the award to change from one year to the next. However, unless there is a significant change in family circumstance, a family can expect that the percentage of financial aid received will be fairly constant.
Are the financial aid records confidential?
All financial aid information is strictly confidential and viewed only by the Finance Review Committee.
