Community Service
It has been said that to find your purpose in life you must combine that which you love – your passion, with what you are good at – your profession, with what you can be paid for – your vocation, with what the world needs – your mission.
At Maharishi School we aim to help each of our students realize not only their passions, possible professions, and vocations, but also how they can apply those discoveries to find the last piece of the puzzle: their mission.
Our Community Service Program teaches students that they are valuable members of our society, able to give as well as receive. It helps them respect the efforts others have made for them, and to take responsibility for their growing position as full-fledged members of a global community.
High Schoolers fulfill ten hours a year of community service by choosing from a variety of options, with something to suit and expand every personality and skill-set. Students have built homes from the ground up with Habitat for Humanity, planted trees, walked dogs at our local animal shelter, worked at the public library, weatherized homes for senior citizens, ushered at community theater events, and worked with children at Maharishi School Summer Day Camp. How will you help serve the world?
