It’s more than a motto here — it’s the daily reality of a school with students from more than 30 countries. We’re committed to equity, inclusion, and honoring diversity in and out of the classroom, and we pursue it two ways at once: through established, evidence-based practices in the field, and through the Consciousness-Based principles that have always shaped this school.
What We Do
In the curriculum. DEI knowledge and skills are taught explicitly — most of all in our Consciousness, Connections, and Life Skills (CCLS) course — covering anti-bias and cultural humility, understanding of implicit and explicit bias, social-emotional learning, and restorative, positive approaches to discipline.
With families and staff. Ongoing professional development for faculty, and parent education through grade-level meetings, book clubs, workshops, and service projects.
In how we run the school. A DEI committee monitors culture and needs through research with students, parents, and staff, and reviews demographics, personnel practices, discipline, and resources so our stated priorities are actually applied.
